Elements of a Coaching Process
A "chemistry meeting" to explore what the coachee hopes to gain from the coaching and to ensure that the coach is well-suited to help on that issue;
Discussion with the coachee and their line manager or sponsor on the personal and organisational benefits expected.
A series of confidential sessions with the coachee. A session usually lasts 90 minutes to 2 hours.
Between sessions the coachee has support by telephone and email to encourage them in their learning actions – again on a confidential basis.
Personality questionnaires, such as the Hogan Development Survey and the Myers Briggs Type Inventory may be offered.
With the agreement of the coachee, stakeholder input may be sought – this may be questionnaire or interview-based.
On completion of the coaching programme, the outcomes are reviewed against the success criteria agreed at the outset.
